This new Australian film was produced here in Perth through the cooperative strength of the local filmmaking community during these difficult times.
Though this could be described as a thriller and drama wrapped up in a murder mystery, it is interesting to see how stereotypes of individuals have been reversed. All the negatives in society are shown by the white community, whereas on the other side is the quiet and intelligent Aboriginal man, who retains his dignity and respect for others through a most harrowing time.
Though one boy tries to break the toxic cycle that is existing, the actions of his friends bring a shocking climax that no one was expecting.
This debut feature film is from director Steven Mihaljevich. Running time is 108 minutes.
This film is part of the Revelation Film Festival running from 9 to 13 December at Luna Leederville and the Backlot Perth as part of a series of new Australian films screening.
Though some scenes may disturb some viewers, it is a powerful story told and worth seeing. Tickets can be purchased online through Revelation or direct from either cinema.
