Through the classical music composition of Australian composer
Elena Kats-Chernin, Hans Christian Andersen's delightful tale, The Wild Swans, will be brought to life on
Sunday, 19th July at
3pm and
6pm at the
Sydney Opera House, and will thrill and captivate young and old alike.
Narrated by
Amanda Muggleton, The Wild Swans tells the story of Eliza, the princess who must save her 11 brothers by oveturning the spell her evil stepmother has placed on the boys. If Eliza doesn't defeat her, the brothers remain swans forever, never to return to their human form.
The performance is a great introduction to classical music for children and is a wonderful experience for big children, with the magic of the fairytale being brought to new heights thanks to violin by
Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich, piano by
John Martin and direction from
Rodney Fisher.
