The quality and emotion of Ngaiire's voice makes me wish that I was a singer. Luckily for the rest of the world, I am not. Even luckier still, she is. The talent that she has for taking you on a musical journey and transporting you to a different time and place through the sheer power of her voice, is second to none. Add into the mix her unique lyrical style, spectacular storytelling ability and quirky performance energy, and the whole experience is enough to imbue us lesser mortals with a strong sense of voice-envy. The best part is that Ngaiire is generous enough to regularly share her sublime talent with those of us less fortunate in the vocal chord department, so all is not lost.

A regular on the live music scene and festival circuit, both in Sydney and across the country; the inimitable Papua New Guinea native will be bringing her beautifully dulcet tones to The Bar at the End of the Wharf (Walsh Bay), as part of the Wharf Sessions on Friday 26th October.

Whilst Ngaiire's blend of indie, electronica and singer-song-writer soul (infused with a touch of jazz, blues and folk) will intrigue and inspire, her heartfelt performance will give you goose bumps. I promise. If my word's not enough, check out what John Butler has to say about her.

"It was like a soulful massage for my eardrums. Beautiful harmonies, great songs, sass, sincerity and soul to spare."

Don't just take his word for it (or mine), drop in to this one-off gig and hear her for yourself. You owe it to your eardrums and your musical education to see this woman perform live. She will be showcasing new tracks from her forthcoming album (due out early next year), as well performing other songs from her substantial original repertoire (check out her website for a sneak peak), so you're in for a real treat. Not only will you be bitten by the Ngaiire bug, but one day you'll be able to smugly recall when and where you saw her first.
