The Art House in Wyong is a professional theatre on the Central Coast, that presents national and international artists to local audiences so they can support the local economy and get to see shows and performances they usually have to travel for since it opened in 2016.
On the 20th of March at 8pm, The Art House is presenting a performance of
The Wet , created by Harley Man and the Circa Cairns Ensemble, and explores Far North Queensland and its weather, from the journey of the green ant to higher ground, until the storm breaks. You will be connected to place and will find yourself immersed in the hot damp.
This performance by Circa Cairns, a new First Nations-led circus ensemble that creates exciting circus shows directly from the heart of Cairns. They have created The Wet on Country, traversing Far North Queensland as a response to the landscape and the yarns of community. Circa Cairns has drawn on ancient stories of the wet tropics for The Wet, and uses dynamic and thrilling acrobatics to connect everyone to Country. It was conceived by Harley Man (Wakka Wakka) and is embodied by Circa Cairns and is a powerful circus filled with culture.
Please note: The Wet may contain voices and images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who have passed away.
It runs for seventy minutes with no interval, and is aimed at ages three and older.
