As a five-star boutique hotel, The Waterfront Hotel has definitely lived up to our expectations. It is situated not far from the Kuching waterfront and hence its name. It offers more than 200 guest rooms with views of either the Sarawak River or Padang Merdeka.



Our premier family room came with two comfortable queen-size beds perfect for four people. It had floor-to-ceiling windows, a wide desk, fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, bathrobes and slippers. Its bathroom was spacious, and the mirrors were huge too. Multiple universal sockets were provided, making it easy for us to charge our devices. Overall, we were very happy with the amenities and cleanliness of the room.



The hotel's location is great too, being connected directly to a shopping mall. Plaza Merdeka has everything we needed during our stay including a well-stocked supermarket and a food court filled with heaps of choices. We tried the Sarawak laksa and kolo mee (halal version) and were reasonably satisfied. Other food outlets such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Subway, McDonalds, Starbucks, Gloria Jean's Coffee, Gong Cha, etc are also available. And, of course, the hotel has a restaurant offering both local delights and Western cuisine as well.
