If you love dragons and love drawing or writing stories then 'The Warlock's Child' competition could be right in your dragon's den:
Ford Street Publishing is running a competition where you have the choice of either drawing or illustrating a dragon (by hand or computer), or writing a short story.
You know the books series, 'The Warlock's Child', written by well-known Australian fantasy authors, Sean McMullen and Paul Collins? Well, the first three books,
The Burning Sea, Dragonfall Mountain, and
The Iron Claw, all feature dragons; and as one of the prospective winning artists, all you need to do is create your image or write your story using one of the dragons from any of those first three books as your inspiration!
DRAW
If you choose to illustrate one of our magical-scaled friends, then all you need to do is choose a dragon from any of the first three books:
The Burning Sea, Dragonfall Mountain, or The Iron Claw. Create you artwork in full colour either by hand or produce it using your computer. It's that easy!
WRITE
If you'd like to write: choose two characters from the first three books. Make sure your story is 500 words or less.
PRIZES!
First Prize: a leatherbound dragon notebook; and autographed 6-volume set of The Warlock's Child and publication of the winner's story and artwork in OzKidsinPrint and entry the magazine's competition*.
Kids, get your entries in by the 28 July 2015, the winners will be announced on 10 August 2015 via
Ford Street Publishers website.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Submit your entries via postal service (so that they are post-marked) or by email by 28 July 2015. It doesn't matter whether you enter by post or electronically, but any submissions arriving after 1 August will be ineligible to for consideration. So make sure you mark these dates in your or your family's calendar!

You must be fifteen years or younger on the date of submission
The judges' decision are final and no correspondence will be entered into
Age, email and postal address must be included on entry
The publisher reserves the right to publish or not publish winning entries, regardless of the judges' decision
