What would you do if everyone in the universe was in danger? That's the basic premise of this new book, The Void. However, throw in some time travel, space pirates, and an occasional death and you've got something far from basic.

When two police officers uncover the malicious intent, they set off towards the Void to save everyone they love. Immediately they are set upon by a mysterious figure intent on allowing the evil that exists on the other side of the Void through into this world.

With the help of vagabonds, thieves and misfits, the two officers are determined to stop the mysterious figure. By looking to the past, they realise the enormity of their task ahead, but even the loss of their closest friends and family won't deter them from doing what has to be done.

The Void, by SL Cork

This book is a fast-paced, humorous story set in the distant future. Almost similar to Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman or Douglas Adams, (although no-one can really be like them) this story sucks you in with its adventurous spirit and you will be left wanting more. And if you are wanting more, you are in luck. This is the first book published in the Beyond Time series as well as the first book published for author SL Cork.

Without giving too much away (no one likes spoilers), there are twists and turns aplenty, keeping the reader on their toes. If you are looking for a fun and interesting story, that is also light, quick and intriguing, then here is a good place to start.
