Vintage fashion lovers be warned is going to become your new secret fashion store you wouldn't want to share. Tucked away behind a tall fence on Mornington -Tyabb Rd, Tyabb on the Mornington Peninsula is a dowdy looking building that shares the same driveway as The Vintage Shed.
The building is filled with different stall sites so you can expect an array of items that change with each seller's personality and the uniqueness that it brings to each site is wonderful. Although most of the stalls offer women's clothing and accessories, there is one stall that's dedicated to males, along with children's items that you can find dotted througout the store.
I must admit I am not fashionable, I rather dislike clothes shopping and I don't really understand fashion, so in other words I'm not the best person to make judgement, however some of these clothes are plain wrong, though now I think about it, it was most likely they were from the 80's and I'm not sure if there were any great fashion trends in the 80's?
Don't let that put you off because there are some really lovely items that would be difficult to find anywhere else. My favourite items were a pair of long brown leather boots, race wear and hats, a lemon coloured hand knitted child's poncho with hood (very cute), the array of scarves that adorned the hand rail in the hall way, and the furnishings (some of which are for sale).
I must admit I loved the fact the attendant was wearing vintage clothing with bright lipstick. What better way to display the store's image than with a confident woman showing the vintage look off perfectly.
is open Mondays 11am - 3pm and Thursday through to Sunday between 10am - 5pm.
As for prices, they vary between sellers and styles so I suggest the best thing is to just go and check it out, it's worth a look even if you don't buy anything.
Happy vintage hunting.
