Where like minded people go to meet
The Velo project is a place where the vibe is just as more-ish as its food and coffee, the staff are as fun and familiar as the friends your meeting for lunch and like minded people go to get lost in a world made up of a quirky collection of timeless goodies, deli treats to die for, fresh flowers and folky music. A place where it all comes together with harmony and grace to create a space that stimulates all the senses and welcomes kiddies and adults alike.
Opening from 7am to 5pm daily, makes this little cafe the perfect place to meet friends for breakfast or brunch, pop in for a coffee or freshly squeezed juice or drop by and pick up something from the deli to create some "Velo magic" of your own at home. "Keep it simple" and "fresh is best" are two ideas that are proven to be the key in all the meals here. Top produce and simple flavours that complement each other is the Velo Project way and boy have they got it down to a fine art. It's never easy to choose from the menu, but one thing is certain you won't be disappointed!
Situated on Careela St Mooloolaba, makes it little tricky to find at first but you will never forget once you have. Street parking is available and the recent addition of an outside dining area decked out with a sandpit and fun things to do keep the munchkins occupied while mum and dad relax with a coffee or friends can meet to enjoy a bite to eat. Everyone is catered for with gluten, lactose free and vegetarian dishes available.
What this funky little cafe lacks in size it certainly makes up for with character and attention to detail You'll find yourself surrounded by an eclectic display of rustic trinkets and the love and passion for great food and coffee is demonstrated every time. This is not a cafe that has to rely on beach views, it has found a way to create an atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more and flavours that your taste buds won't forget.
Delish, scrambled eggs, gluten free toast and goats milk feta
The Velo Project is definitely one to add to the "must try" list. Its beautiful simple food with BIG flavours, yummy sweet treats and great coffee are not things to deprive your palate of. A cafe that welcomes everyone with open arms; simply the perfect place to go and take some time out.
