The Valley Wine Bar

Published November 2nd 2017

"I hate wine bars" said nobody ever.

I'm serious, a wine bar is the light at the end of a long week tunnel and thank god, Fortitude Valley have now got one. And, it's not any old one, it's a pretty, damn good one too!

The Valley Wine Bar sits cosy in the centre of Alfred street. It has that rustic, candlelit design which calls out for a first date with a red or a "I hate my ex" with friends and a white.

Whatever the reason, the Valley will have you covered. There are bottles and bottles of the stuff from floor to ceiling and a more than helpful wait staff who will guide you through the labyrinth of wine.

Once settled with a bottle/glass (or preferred spirit or beer) you can choose from their perfectly chosen nibbles. Charcuterie, cheese, nuts... the partners in crime to your beverage.

Okay, I admit it, It's been the guilty party in my hangovers, but the beauty of this place is, in the morning it serves recovery coffee and fresh pastries. An awesome combination if I do say so myself.

Go try it, and when you do, ask to see the 'Jesus peeing in Trumps head' bottle ... it deserves a clap.
