[ADVERT]Calling all young and young-at-heart music lovers to the cultural melting pot of Fortitude Valley this October. The Valley goes off even more than usual over three huge days from October 26-28 as Brisbane's much-loved and largest annual street festival returns. The festival, which began in 1997 and has since become a key event in the Brisbane's City Council's event calendar, sees more than 100,000 revelers descend on the Valley in a celebration of live music and the arts staged within the somewhat hedonistic environment of Brisbane's party precinct, the Valley.

The fiesta sees Brunswick Street Mall becomes an 'outdoor' club of sorts, with outdoor stages electrifying live performances from some of Brisbane's best homegrown talent, plus scores of high profile acts from around the globe.

Local venues like the Judith Wright Centre and Cloudland also host more intimate performances throughout the action packed weekend. This years just-released line-up includes the headlining appearance by US hip hop veterans Arrested Development as part of their 20th year anniversary tour. Other acts include The Aston Shuffle, a house music duo from Canberra, and Sydney's indie rock group Deep Sea Arcade, who have build a solid fan-base and are touring on the back of a recent album release. TV-presenter and model Ruby Rose will also be making an appearance as well Carins rock out-fit The Medics. For the full line visit the event website here

This year's event also brings the return of the outrageously fun roller disco, which offers skates and free entry so you can rollerskate alongside disco lights and music until your 70s fix is fulfilled. Last years Roller Disco was held on the rooftop of the Chinatown car park with a great view to match the experience, so here's hoping to a repeat for this years Fiesta.

The full timetable for the event is yet to be public and there are a number of events still to be announced including jazz performances on the Sunday, and a showcase of Queensland Music Awards with special guests, so keep checking the website and Brisbane City Council website for more details closer to the event. However if you're a lover of live music and enjoy a street party like no other this is one weekend you'll be wanting to free up now.
