Unpolished wooden tables, beverages served in jars or milk bottles, cutlery waiting in garden tins, wall art and rustic pieces is all the trend now and the Urban on Lantana has pulled it off well.
It's not all about the décor though. This cosy café in the backstreets of suburbia is a perfect way to start your day for breakfast with friends, a laid back lunch or even a coffee, milkshake or a 'hot chocolate delight'.
The staff are super friendly, the food is delicious, and coming from someone who loves food, I can honestly say that at this café, I've eaten one of the best sandwiches I've ever come across. Slow roasted beef, beetroot relish, rocket and feta on sourdough bread drizzled lightly in olive oil served with a side of fat cut chips on, of course, a big wooden board.
I love trying new places, but there are so many reasons this café keeps bringing me back! Over the weekend I enjoyed the Veggie Urban breakfast – poached eggs, avocado, beautiful sourdough, tomato relish, and sweet potato röstis.
If you're a good planner and can book ahead of time, you can also enjoy dinner here on a Friday or Saturday night. They create a new menu all the time, so you're always experiencing something new – too perfect!
