Summary

According to author Jayson Young, the baby food diet fad first hit the internet around 2010 when rumours circulated that Jennifer Aniston went on a baby food diet to lose a quick 7 pounds to shoot a movie, at the suggestion of her celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson. More people were then attempting the baby food diet for quick weight loss results.

This diet calls for eating baby food all day followed by a regular “adult” meal in the evening. Also, the author states to pack this meal with plenty of fiber, protein, whole grains and healthy fats to account for the nutrients that you are not getting from pureed baby food.

Some people might have jars of baby food every day as low-calorie treats.

Is the baby food diet bad for you? Well, if the diet is not good enough for you…

  • Eat a balanced diet.
  • Limit your intake of food and drinks high in added sugar.
  • Focus on portion control.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Don’t skip meals.

  • What can you have?

  • Jars of pureed baby food of all types.
  • 1 to 2 adult meals per day, especially protein and complex carbs.
  • Water, tea and coffee.
  • No other foods and limit or avoid alcohol.

  • Similar diets to the baby food diet are:

  • Special K Diet
  • Slim Fast Diet
  • Mushroom Diet

  • A sample meal plan would be:

  • Breakfast - 5 jars
  • Lunch - 5 jars
  • Afternoon - 2 jars
  • Dinner - your regular dinner
  • Evening - 2 jars

  • Opinion

I like the fact that a person can choose, from a huge selection of jars and never get bored, unlike other diets.

What don’t I like? This is a cookbook and the recipes are just not that appetizing.

The author mentioned that the Mushroom Diet is similar to the baby food diet. I plan to study such a diet. I grew up on fresh mushrooms and love them.

    I give this book a 5-star rating.
