The Sassquatch meets the Duck
Adam Solis and Valentin Long are two Western Australian actor friends who have now re-located to Sydney.

As well as acting in, Valentin Long also writes plays. The Trick is his second. The first, Russell, was mounted at the Sydney Fringe to general acclaim.

The Trick is a simple story at one level, with deeper levels the more one thinks about it. Ostensibly about two friends - Adam, an aspiring actor who calls on his old school friend, who leads a mysterious You-Tube life in a mask as 'Sassquatch'.

Despite the fact that he wears a mask as his persona, he is a voluntary shut-in to avoid being recognised and losing his anonymity. Adam has to deal with this and 'Sassquatch's' needy demands.

The play develops along unusual lines and can be viewed as an acting exercise or simply as an entertainment. I do hope Long keeps on writing and performing.

Incidentally, if you look up Sassquatch's videos on YouTube, its actually a series by a personable young lass on make-up.

The Trick runs until the 2nd February and the $15 tickets may be booked here.

Recommended.
