A fairly new establishment as you head across the Harbour Bridge to the north side. If you have heard of the Victoria Cross before (my old uni bar hangout spot) then you're now in for a pleasant surprise. The Treehouse is nestled right opposite the North Sydney Post Office. An ideal location to hide out for after work drinks, or for a quality craft brew or otherwise. Great for drinks in a brilliant ambience. The food is okay, yet nothing to rave about. This is where mixed feelings can come to the fore. This establishment deserves a second chance, a new lease on life.
Something would be wrong if you did not open up out of your shell and become a social butterfly here. Great times are encouraged. Love sitting in front of the wood oven heater on cosy and comfortable chairs. The couch is also supreme. A great variety of champagne and craft beers are available here.
Speaking of parties, this establishment recently celebrated its (belated) first birthday party in style with an Alice in Wonderland theme. This was cool. This is where it feels okay to feel like a kid again... sometimes. Party poppers and balloons were also enjoyed by all. Expect to see the guys behind the bar wearing the most massive, glittery bow ties ever seen in a swanky Sydney bar come celebratory milestone time. This is where their food (canapes) was something special.
Looks like this establishment has lifted their game slightly in the food area. Loved the rice balls and the chocolate cupcakes. The icing may have had a bit too much sugar. A glass of Chandon Champagne is fitting and appropriate. Great service, the staff are incredibly fun and friendly. There is no excuse to never ever settle for a dull pub experience in north Sydney for an after work, after uni or celebratory brew ever again. Cheers to that.
Agree with your comments re ambience and service, offers a great alternate to the standard bar/pub offerings especially for after work drinks.
We have been there 3 or 4 times for dinner and each time have been impressed with the quality and variety of the food, and the value for money.
