Why live in virtual reality when you create your own dream reality at The Town. Lush rolling hills, a stunning secluded village, a new place to call home. This is a place for like-minded people who have declared the world a joke. For dreamers, tumble onto new land to let your characters roam, where the only language is love, amidst a positive crowd of around 1400 who respect the land, and are down for theatrics, diversity and getting lost in a utopian village to party smart, sustainably and totally absurdly. Must bring your own mailbox. If all this is totally new to you, find out more here.
Grab your tickets, bring your ID and prepare to be at Licola Wilderness Village, 5 Jamieson Rd, Licola from Friday 4 May at 8am (Town gates open 10am) to Monday 7 May at 12pm, where music abounds on indoor and outdoor stages, and open mic times to strut your stuff. Alternatively, head to a wedding, a masquerade ball, prom night, some fire twirling and immersive theatre. For the sportier characters, there's the Olympics, roller skating, canoeing, trampolines, indoor basketball, giant games, flying fox, ball pit, funky art cars, workshops and so much more of everything.
Are you up for being in a beautiful place; part mock village full of characters, games and debauchery and the other part, a mirror and sustainable model of our real lives, exploring what makes a healthy community? Let your own dream reality seep in by engaging in interactive areas that include the Town Theatre, Town Hall, Main Street, Suburbia, The Church, Army HQ, Karma Hotel, the General Store, the Town Zoo, and even Centrelink and many more.
A first year on the new site, only regular cars and small vans are allowed. Plan to travel light with at least 3 people per car; an approach to help achieve a Sustainable Festival. You will receive a $20 fee if you have less than 3 people in your car. No dogs allowed. There is a caravan park right next to the site if you're hauling a caravan, with allowance for trailers for theme camps and early arrivals. Please read the Sustainability Guide and bring crockery for zero disposable waste. For all ticketing enquiries, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Vegalicious and Psybus will be serving healthy delicious food all weekend and gas stoves are allowed in low wind conditions under 10 knots, fully attended at all times and 3 metres from any tents or material. You can BYO alcohol in moderation, but no glass or plastic in line with the zero waste approach. Consider putting it in re-usable vessels.
There will be no passouts at this Festival. Next to sustainability, this event is all about having fun, finding your character, register for Mayor, play games, interact, create skits, be bizarre, go on an adventure, go wild and more! Don't just play in this playground, but be part of its creation. With amazing things planned, it's going to be exciting to see what you all come up with, so bring it on! Head to Licola beside the Macalister River, 254 kms east of Melbourne. The township is owned entirely by the Lions Clubs of Victoria and Southern NSW. It's the only privately owned town in Victoria and the only one not on mains power. It generates its own power, pumps and treats its own water and is responsible for its waste management. The town's General Store awaits for you to buy fuel, groceries, maps and other things.
