On a weekend away to Daylesford recently, we came across The Tangled Maze and mini golf at Creswick. Our family had a terrific time dashing around through the hedge maze, looking for the clues on our clue cards that they gave us at the front desk. We also played a comical game of mini golf, an adventure in itself with two two year olds, a four year old, and a rule-enforcing six year old.
Half way between Ballarat and Daylesford, five kilometres from Creswick, is a magical place where the whole family can enjoy a fun day out.
They like to say that "getting lost is only half the fun," at the Tangled Maze; that's because in addition to the hedge maze, you can enjoy mini golf, giant chess, naughts and crosses, and a gorgeous meal at the cafe.
The indoor "Amaz 'n' Play" (indoor playground) and "Amaz 'n' Ice" (synthetic ice rink) will be open in September, to accommodate some fun when the weather is too hot or too cool for the maze or mini golf.
[ADVERT]The café offers an extensive menu, and meals are available all day. We had enjoyed a large breakfast before arriving, so we reluctantly bypassed the larger servings in favour of a frittata, sandwich, and nuggets with chips for the kids. The food was freshly made, tasty, and well priced. The specials board listed some pies at $5 (including a pork, apple, cashew pie and a sweet lamb curry pie, yum).
Tangles offers a French baroque style function room with vaulted ceilings and natural light. In the evenings the wrought iron chandelier gives a sophisticated ambiance. Seating up to 170.
