The Swisse Color Run Brisbane 2014
Sun 01 Jun 2014
If you are keen for some exercise mixed in with lots of laughter and a myriad of colours, the Swisse Color Run is coming to Brisbane on Sunday, 1st of June 2014 at the Robelle Domain, Springfield Central. The run is bound to be messy but that only adds to the amount of fun – the run is called the happiest 5k on the planet for a reason.
A celebration of healthiness, happiness and individuality, the Color Run let off waves of approximately 1000 participants every 3-6 minutes with a water station around the half-way point of the course.
There are four colour zones on the course: Pink, Orange, Blue and Yellow where you will be blasted with colour. The colour is 100% natural, food dyed, food grade cornstarch and this is a family friendly event for all ages. It is advisable to wear goggles or a bandanna if you are worried about getting colour in your mouth or eyes.
As you cross the finishing line you will get a colour packet to use at the Finishing Festival where there are colour throws approximately every 15 minutes and where you can burn even more calories dancing.
There is even a cleaning zone available afterwards where they will blow all the loose powder off you. Remember not to wear any of your expensive clothing and it is more fun starting the race in white and ending up with colours. If you are driving, remember to bring a towel for the inside of your cars.
The run starts at 9am. Individual tickets cost $60.50 per person or $55.50 per person for a group of 4 or more people. Kids 5 years old and under are free. Entries close on Monday, 26 May at 5pm. Tickets include The Color Run official event shirt, sweat band, 1 bag of coloured powder, temporary tattoo, race bib, entry to The Finish Festival and a public transport ticket (return ticket to and from the Springfield Central station), a 10 minute walk to the event village. Extra train services have been scheduled for the event day).
