Named after the English washed-rind cheese, The Stinking Bishops is a cheese and wine shop that opened on April 1st (no joke!), 2014 on Enmore Road and has already proven to be a hit amongst locals and non-locals alike!

The Stinking Bishops also serves fantastic Golden Cobra coffee, grain bread and an amazing array of cheese, cured meats and wine from around the world. If this wasn't enough, they also have a short and sweet menu of sandwiches, homemade pies, salads and pastries from Luxe.

Apart from dining in, patrons can also buy cheese, bread and coffee to take home. Cheese accompaniments such as quince paste and crackers are also available for purchase.

The grilled cheese sandwiches are to-die-for, aptly named "Mr. Crispy"'s on the menu. I ordered the smoked wagyu and gruyere Mr. Crispy. I am not sure if it is legal to marry a sandwich, but I would have definitely tried to propose to Mr. Crispy. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure it's legal to eat your husband either.

You can order a range of platters including cheese or charcuterie. There is a choice of 2, 3 or 4 cheese platters that come with quince paste, fig and walnut roll, dried muscatels and a selection of bread and crackers.

The enthusiastic and friendly owner Jamie was extremely knowledgeable about cheeses, and explained each cheese on our platter. Alternatively, ask for the "cheese bible" which is a booklet containing all the information regarding the type, origin and milks of each cheese.

This place is a true haven for all cheese and wine aficionados, and lovers of great food.
