An upcoming forum will explore issues affecting Australia's indigenous people. This is an opportunity to hear directly from Indigenous leaders who will talk about trends and changes they see in Australia at the moment.

The forum is part of NAIDOC week and is organised by Pilgrim Uniting Church, TEAR Australia and the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress. The event will be hosted at Pilgrim Centre Hall& #8232 ;, 12 Flinders Street, Adelaide, on July 10, 6.30 for 7pm start. Topics to be discussed include Constitutional Recognition, Closure of communities in WA, Defunding, and whatever is on the hearts of Indigenous Australians. The forum also includes a question time.

The event provides an opportunity to listen to Indigenous leaders like Brooke Prentis from Brisbane who will be discussing important issues for Australia's first peoples. An Aboriginal Christian Leader, Brooke is a descendant of the Waka Waka people in Queensland. She is the Chairperson of the Queensland Churches Together Indigenous Peoples Partnership and a member of the Salvation Army's National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group. She is the Coordinator of the Grasstree Gathering, a national, interdenominational conference for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian Leaders and speaks from a platform of understanding poverty and justice issues in Australia.
