The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival is in its fifth year this year and is still going strong with many new and different events and activities for families to enjoy. This Monday night, January 6th, is movie night, with a free screening of the Australian biopic Ride Like A Girl. Based on the true story of Michelle Payne's Melbourne Cup win in 2015, the film stars Australian actress Teresa Palmer as Michelle Payne, the first woman to win the Melbourne Cup, and is directed by first time director Rachel Griffiths of Muriel's Wedding fame.

The film screening includes a Q&A beforehand with director Rachel Griffiths, producer Susie Montague and Michelle Payne. This is a must event to attend with the whole family as other celebrities attending the Q& A and film screening include Princess Ann's daughter Zara Tindall, who is a patron of Magic Millions Racing Women and her family, Australian Rugby League great Billy Slater and Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras and their families. The event commences at 6:30pm, with the movie commencing at 7pm at Surfers Paradise Foreshore – South of Lifeguard Tower 34, Esplanade, Surfers Paradise. Bookings are essential and can be made at www.magicmillions.com.au/calendar/2020-movie-night-on-the-beach
