I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Meet here with your mates and maidens
A great bar with a relaxed vibe for all day drinking and dining, the Squire's Maiden is situated on the promenade opposite the Honeysuckle Hotel. The design of the building is like a large open shed with plenty of sheltered outdoor seating and there are water views, even though it's not located directly on the river.
The full range of James Squire beers and ciders are on tap, wine and bottled beer are also available. On a warm Autumn day there is nothing better than downing a cold beverage whilst watching the pedestrian/cycle traffic make its way past.
As one orders and pays at the bar, it is easy to snack on a share platter before deciding whether a more substantial main or a dessert is called for. The Squire's Maiden will also cater for functions and they offer a range of specials such as the $12 30 minute express lunch (M-Th) or Friday Happy Hours 4-7pm.
