A different place to indulge in chocolatey goodness
Bored of the the usual chocolate places to hang out such as Max Brenner, San Churro, Lindt cafe? If all the above are pushing your cliche button too much, this place is for you!

A friend and I love catching up on each others' lives at Rashays in Liverpool. Anyway, my friend suggested that we should walk down the road (on Macquarie street)- it was literally around 20 metres away, to 'The Spot Chocolate Bar'.

So here I was on a Friday night wearing my work uniform (which I thought looked rather odd- not exactly a Friday night outfit to go partying in); but I felt strangely comfortable. Being in Liverpool and all, people seemed friendly, the staff (there seemed to be quite a few of them for the number of customers in there - probably in anticipation of the onslaught later on in the night) were cheerful and bubbly and the Bar was an interesting blend of East meets West; with the chocolate and sweet snacks including waffles, blends of fruit and chocolate/ ice cream, pancakes, fondue, the sheesha and drinks, plus savoury meals such as burgers, pasta and seafood.

The dessert menu looked wonderfully appetising, and well presented. My friend ordered strawberries and chocolate fondue, mostly because it made us feel somewhat healthy - well, not really, but anyway it was a safe option and relatively foolproof so I can't really comment on the quality of the desserts based on that one item, but it wasn't disappointing by any means.

I am particularly interested in coming back to try the sheesha and the mocktails (no alcoholic beverages served there), and maybe even dropping in for a hot beverage (many coffees and hot chocolates to choose from).

The Spot Chocolate Bar has quite a spark to it, appealing to a variety of my sweeter senses. It offers a big menu to choose from no matter what you're feeling like with all the fun and glamour of a conventional (aforementioned) chocolate place.

Do try it!
