Don't let the name fool you, the food here is anything but boring.

[ADVERT]After driving a little way through the Barossa Valley you might be forgiven for stopping at the first restaurant you see. But go a little further east, to Angaston, and you'll find the gem that is .

Located on Valley Road in Angaston, at the site of the original Gawler Park Glace Fruit Company, the building has been completely refurbished using wood and other salvaged materials so that the look and the feel of the store is warm and inviting.

All around there are spectacular views of the surrounding properties. If you have the chance and the weather permits, I recommend one of the outside tables on the decking. It's hard not to stare glassy-eyed at the scenery.

Booking isn't a necessity but if you plan to bring more than one friend it's a good idea as it can get busy, particularly when the sun is out. That said, there are plenty of tables both inside and out, with umbrellas for the latter. Functions can also be booked, catering to both large and small groups.

The service is excellent; the waiters are friendly and more than happy to offer advice on a wine choice or one of the specials. That might seem trivial but when you look at the menu you realise what a tough decision it is picking only one of the meals on offer. The mind behind the SA Company Store menu, executive head chef Chris Wilksch, has created a well-rounded menu to appease all appetites.

Breakfast is as much the focus as main courses, so that no matter the time of day there will always be a good selection of meals to choose from. The kitchen specialises in locally produced foods, and dishes like the vegetarian risotto with salmon really shine thanks to the home-made pesto and parmesan cheese.

Once you've finished your meal you can peruse the rest of the offerings within the store. Gifts, chocolates, spreads, and a multitude of other products are available to purchase near the counter. For the coffee addicts there is also a coffee club to make any future purchases easier on the wallet.

For more information has a comprehensive website where you can make bookings or enquiries.
