Chilled tunes and tasty treats every month in Brisbane
At the risk of sounding parochial, I think that Brisbane is blessed with the best free live music programs in Australia. Where else can you spend balmy Saturday evenings under a palm tree, or Sunday mornings with a picnic brunch, right in the heart of the city, enjoying the very best of talented musicians, performers and singers? Brisbane's winning combination of perfect outdoorsy climate and a thriving local music scene are coming together again for the city's latest free music program, The Sound Society.

On the first weekend of every month in 2018 The Sound Society will utilise two of Brisbane's best outdoor venues, South Bank Parklands and Roma Street Parklands — both on the city's doorstep — to introduce leisure-seeking Brisbaneites to some of our city's best musical talent, as well as interstate and international acts just passing through. And it will all be enjoyed under the shade of a tree, on lush green lawns, without pressing crowds and traffic noise. And did I mention that it's free? Nirvana.
Go on a date, get your friends or workmates together or chill out solo. Spread out a rug, BYO picnic or pick up something from the food vendors on site. What could be more relaxing? And the entertainment? You'll be treated to a lineup from a range of musical genres: jazz, soul, folk, pop, indie and country.
