Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian, John Frost and The Really Useful Group presents " The Sound of Music " running at The Adelaide Festival Theatre from August 9th until September 4th. Following its record-breaking run at the London Palladium, the world's best-loved musical, The Sound of Music is coming to Adelaide.

The Sound of Music is the story of a young woman called Maria Rainer (Amy Lehpamer), who is on the path of becoming a nun at Nonnberg Abbey in Salzburg, Austria. She leaves the convent on God's quest to become the governess to seven children of a wealthy, Austrian widower, Captain Georg Von Trapp (Cameron Daddo) who is a retired navy officer.

After the Captain's wife died, he treated his family more like his crew with a house full of orders and different whistles to call each children's attention. Maria reintroduces The Captain to his seven children who he couldn't bear to be around, as they reminded him of his deceased wife. She brings music and laughter back into the house.

Starring Marina Prior as Baroness Schraeder, Jacqueline Dark as Mother Abbess, Lorraine Bayly as Frau Schmidt and David James as Max Detweiler, Stefanie Jones as Liesl and Du Toit Bredenkamp as Rolf.

The other Von Trapp Children will be rotated between two different casts and will include Friedrich will be played by Nathan Stafford & Ethan Schembri, Louisa by Jacinda Tsakalos & Katie Lammin, Kurt by Oscar Bridges & Cooper James, Brigitta by Alicia Hammond & Ariel Higgs, Marta by Danika Roach & Charlotte Van Zuydam and Gretl by Anna McAuliffe & Zoe Pool.

The show features all your favourite songs including 'My Favourite Things', 'Edelweiss', 'Do-Re-Mi', 'Sixteen Going On Seventeen', 'The Lonely Goatherd', 'Climb Every Mountain' and 'The Sound of Music'.
