, particularly in Arabic and Somali-speaking countries means a street market where people buy and sell goods. Souks can be found in the Middle East, Africa and even in parts of Asia. Traditionally souks were on trade routes, marketplaces for merchants to stop, rest, sell their wares, trade and meet old friends and acquaintances. Souks are a myriad of interesting, eclectic discoveries as you meander through the maze of laneways and nooks.

will be very different from a normal Australian market. You'll hear music you may not have heard before, see vibrant colours, textures and patterns, and be delighted by roving cultural entertainers, performers and buskers. Stalls will be packed full of colour, interesting products and then there is the street food from around the world your taste buds will thank you for.



You have a chance to experience on Sunday, 18 Jun 2023, starting from 10 am to 4 pm, at Tonsley Innovation District 6 MAB Eastern Promenade Tonsley, as curated of a wide variety of "merchants" selling fresh produce, spices, oils, plants and flowers, street food, artisan produce and handicraft products such as jewellery, textiles, gifts, paintings, and many more can be found here. It will be a feast for the senses and a place of gathering with your friends and family.
