I decided to check out recently for my Mother's birthday. She wanted to go somewhere with a good view, near the beach but keep it quite relaxed rather than going somewhere fancy- ticked all the boxes.

The venue itself is very open and bright, which is ideal when you compare it to some beach eateries that seem to forget to use natural light and can get a bit dark, making it harder to read small print menus. I'd define the Shorehouse as having a 'sophisticated beach club' vibe to it as it caters for those coming in off the beach but also for those wanting to pop in have some food and enjoy the views

The food...which is the best thing about this place (though mother would argue it was the view), We specifically came for lunch, but after noticing the extensive breakfast menu I shall be returning very soon to try that! I had the Fried Buttermilk chicken whilst my mother had the Beef Carpaccio, both well presented and tasted great. The only suggestion would have been there could have been some side salad garnish to the dishes as my dish felt a bit heavy by the end. Also if you like Lemon and Lime Bitters as much as I do, they serve up a great one here!

seems to cater for all, as there were a few young children in there, another birthday and by looking at the menu a good range of vegetarian options too! All of us seemed to be getting the same great service as the waitress came over several times to check everything was okay with our meal.

The overall experience was great and very relaxed, a spot I'll definitely keep in mind for food with the girlfriends or even Mother's Day. Worth popping down before the end of summer!
