Each year since 1997, the Buderim Craft Cottage has been hosting an annual exhibition of hand-crafted sculpture and pottery by their talented local artists. This year boasts the 25th anniversary of their Sculpture Garden Exhibition and you are invited to come along and view the amazing artworks as you embark on a journey of discovery with the artists through their creations.

Each artist expresses and creates his or her individual piece bringing out his or her knowledge, skills and inspiration but also the uniqueness and inner beauty as individual to each artist as it is to each creation. Although through discussion on combinations of building, glazing and firing techniques, a piece may develop differently or exactly as the artist expects.

Deidre Phipps, who is the group leader of the cottage, began her journey twenty years ago after attending a casual workshop. This start was able to ignite her passion and allow her to absorb techniques, test and explore boundaries until she became, as she expressed it, "completely liberated". You will be able to view her stunning 'laughing girls' sculpture at the exhibition.

This exhibition opened Thursday 15th September and runs daily from 10.00am to 4.00pm until 23 October 2022. The address is 5 Main Street (Via Church Street) Buderim. For more information, please call 07 5450 1714. Pop onto the website to look at this event and others to come.

Buderim sits on a one hundred and eighty metre mountain, which overlooks the southern end of the Sunshine Coast. The mountain itself has celebrated more than one hundred and fifty years of settlement and has developed into an idyllic town with a peaceful lifestyle and great community spirit.
