Somtimes a cafe which ticks every box comes along. Sandy Bear Cafe is one of these rare ones with everything going for it. It is located on the Marina at Clontarf, which has beautiful water views.





It is dog-friendly and even has a beach next to it where dogs can run free and swim. There is also a beautiful park which has lots of lovely shady trees. It is an ideal picnic area with facilities and a children's playground.



I have been to the Sandy Bear cafe several times now, where I have enjoyed breakfast and lunch with friends, My breakfast above was lovely the poached eggs were cooked beautifully. The avocado and halloumi added a lovely flavour to this dish.





Just going for coffee and taking a book to read can be very enjoyable. I was able to get a coffee with soy milk which is a bonus as I am lactose intolerant. They also have a variety of sweet treats some gluten-free. The surroundings are so relaxing with nature all around you.



The next visit was for lunch when I enjoyed a fatoush salad.
This was enjoyable and accompanying the falafel was a refreshing salad of halloumi, chickpeas, tomato and herbs. My friends chose to have the toasted sandwiches which you can see listed on the menu in this article.

My next visit to Sandy Bear Cafe was Good Friday when the weather was perfect. For lunch, I had the roast duck salad which was my favourite dish so far. It was delicious, the duck was sweet served with orange, nashi pear, witlof barley, mint and orange dressing. The combinations of flavours were perfectly balanced with a lovely light infusion of the individual ingredients.



There is plenty of dishes at Sandy Bay cafe to choose from as you will see on the menu below. You can enjoy a good breakfast or lunch and eat delicious food at a reasonable price.



Clontarf has a picturesque beach where you can swim or take a scenic walk. The walk takes you through some lovely bush tracks with spectacular water views. I often go to Clontarf with friends, we make a lovely day of it while enjoying all the activities.





A visit to Sandy Bear cafe will allow you to explore all Clontarf has to offer. The cafe has wheelchair access with parking close by. Sandy Bear Cafe has no phone but they are open seven days for breakfast and lunch.
