Chips and gravy... delicious

The Sands Hotel restaurant has been a favourite venue in my family for many years and has been our go-to place for Christmas catchups, birthday dinners and Sunday lunches.

I like visiting The Sands for a meal because I find an inviting atmosphere, nice staff, great food, and convenient parking.

At the Sands, you go up and order your food. You are welcome to take a bread roll and butter while you wait for the main meal. On busy nights, the wait can be quite long but that's to be expected. The staff are always apologetic about this but they try their best.

My favourite meal at this restaurant is the chicken parmigiana with chips and gravy. I've never had a bad schnitzel here, so I generally always order that.

If you've got kids with you, you won't need to worry about them being bored. They have an indoor play area with toys and arcade games plus an outdoor playground. The Sands even offers a Kids membership club which allows them to eat free on Tuesday nights (as long as 1 paying adult). My nephew was a member when he was younger and he got a treat on his birthday and got to enter in members-only competitions. If you live local, I recommend you sign your children up to the club.

Bar prices for drinks are reasonable here, plus they have a sports bar and pokie facilities at the venue.

Overall, I think the Sands is a great place to go for a meal as they are very family oriented and serve great food.
