Located right off the tracks on Swan Street in beautiful Guildford, classy hotel and bar, The Rose and Crown, is a one stop shop for the perfect dining experience. The historic, National Trust listed building boasts three unique areas; the sophisticated indoor bar and restaurant Posh Convict, the sunken and cosy Cellar Bar, and the Garden, a spacious and gorgeous outdoor restaurant.
Posh Convict is an airy restaurant with attached bar and lounge that maintains intimacy while accommodating dozens. The Convict boasts an extensive and impressive wine list, along with their varied and luxurious menu, and with plush seating and a luxurious fireplace, it's just the environment to swill and enjoy.
I often choose to enjoy my meals in the Garden however. The tables are beautiful dark wood under huge umbrellas and have space enough for everything you order and everything you brought with you. No cramped eating or looking to the floor or other tables for storage.
The Rose and Crown has a courteous and attentive staff, happy to cater for a close table for two or a large gathering or parties; they even cater for weddings. Sundays are busy with long leisurely lunches so if you've got a party of four or more, you might want to call ahead.
