Visit The Rook for some lunchtime or after work festivities.
We got around the Uncle Sam and the BLT coming in at around $20 a head (depending if you prefer onion rings or fries). In and out in under an hour it is quite the treat for a lunchtime lunch. We opted for a couple of Pacificos for $9 but they have a bargain Peronis at $7 to send down the beefy goodness. The lovely bartender also muddled me up a michelada basic (tomato juice, worcestershire and lime).
The burgers also come in the chicken, veg or fish variety. The lobster croquettes are tasty little morsels and make waiting for the mains all the more appealing. The service is charming and the space (and sunlight) a welcome break from Sydney's indoor lunch spots.
Equally as great for some evening debauchery the roof and ambience comes alive at night. Part of the Key Stone group – made famous for the loft, bungalow 8 and cargo. This particular venue is quite apart from the pack with only about 15 at the bar and 30-40 in the dining area.

Beware**: Friday lunch the Rook is a buzz of activity so get in early or make a booking!
