Think burlesque beauties at this annual event. Such acts are set to shake things up at The Rocks every Friday night from the 2nd of November to the 21st of December 2012. Welcome to The Rocks Village Bizarre . This event will commence at 6:30pm and will finish up at 10pm. Plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the Sydney nightlife scene shortly thereafter.

If you love the Sydney theatre and/or circus scenes, you're in for a real treat. Some of the highlights of this event:

Lost Laneways:

Theatre, fire and comedy in Greenway Lane will be on show. This goes beyond the magical acts that form the traditional street theatre scene of Sydney. The White Rabbit Bar can also be found in Kendall Lane. This is where it is okay to wear a rabbit mask while listening to the coolest tunes you could listen to in this area. Rabbit foot steps comprise of the trail to find your way here. Be entertained by The Rocks butcher in this laneway on the 2nd of November, or on the 14th of December at 6:30pm and 7:45pm. A choir will also be performing in one of The Rocks historical laneways as part of this annual event. The Hidden Feast (also in Kendall Lane) will satisfy those Sydney foodies.
Fancy a blind date? If so this festival will allow you to experience such in Jack Mundey Place. Theatre act Crowds About You will also be performing here.

Playground of sound:

From silent disco, to a chance to mix your own tunes thanks to the dubtable. Step into The Enchanted Forest, and/or learn how to dance.

Atherden Oddities:

Enjoy some hula hoop and theatre action, and also head to The Holiday Inn Old Sydney to see Uta Uber Cool Ja.

Make overs at the George Street Canopy can also be enjoyed.

If last years party was anything to go by, this years line up will be sensational. A chance to hone your hula hooping skills will also be enjoyed. Convict Butcher George Cribb will also be making an appearance.

In keeping yourself hydrated, many drink stalls will be around in addition to some appetising food choices. The Rocks is also known for its quality corn on the cob. If the quality of this corn is anything to go by, the catering options at the 2012 bizarre will be something worth waiting for.

Street bands and other discotheque will also be on show. It will be fascinating what you might end up doing should you choose to come along and celebrate in the 'thank god its Friday' fun on this historical end of the city. Would you be game enough to try balancing some books on your head? You never know your luck in a big city. Weird, queer, amazing and wonderful entertainment. If I let out any more cats out of the bag, it could spoil the village and the bizarre experience for you.

Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority Event Director Michael Cohen says "step up a laneway, or head into a pop-up studio or into a tent and you find the hidden surprises of the Village Bizarre. There are aging impresarios, burlesque beauties, and a cornucopia of characters, musicians, stories, and fun to be had at The Cabinet of Curiosities, Greenway Lane, at the Rabbit Hole and many more little venues."

Once again, be prepared for the unexpected. Find yourself becoming a ping-pong veteran? A chance to test your ping pong skills is also provided. The theatre come after party experience will also be at your beck and call.
