"Indulge your senses in beautiful foods, entertainment for both adults and children and find yourself immersed in this beautiful beachside market." - Redcliffe Jetty Markets

; the market by the sea. As I said in my article on the North Pine Country Markets , every market has a little 'something' that keeps people coming back. For this particular market, it's definitely the atmosphere.

Redcliffe and Scarborough are coastal towns where you can always smell the sea-salt, the wind is always blowing and the beach is always in sight. Here you can sky-dive, go out to Moreton Island, visit the Redcliffe Lagoon, walk along the renowned jetty or stroll the shops all the way up the main street. Oh, and of course there's the markets every Sunday.

Fresh fruit and vegetable stalls, hippie clothing, face painting, phone cases, hand-made jewellery, soaps, scents, bonsai trees, print T-shirts, paintings and art for sale, belly-dancing, jugglers, musicians and buskers; and then there's the food; and boy is there food. With German sausages, hamburgers, slush puppies, corndogs, hot chips and also the permanent food shops to chose from, you won't be starved of choice.

I myself am a fan of the Turkish Bakery stall when it comes to having a feed. The garlic and cheese bread is just divine and contains: fresh garlic, spinach, mozzarella and feta cheese. You can get breads with mushrooms, chilli, lamb, pineapple, ham and other ingredients as well. A full bread costs only $8 and a half bread costs $5.

When you're ready for a meal, there are plenty of spots to sit down and eat. As well as built-in seating in spots along the main streets (in spots between the stalls), you can also eat whilst taking a walk along the jetty or the beach to add to the mood. Or take your food down to the Humpybong Creek Precinct , which is just behind the main street where the markets are, and eat in picturesque scenery surrounded by birds.

Some of the permanent stores on the main street that you can visit while at the markets are:
Hogs Breath Café
• Coles
Subway
What's Your Team
Redcliffe Ice Creamery
• Jetty News
The Coffee Club

" is not only a great place to visit and purchase unique products but it also has its heart in the community. strongly supports local communities and charities throughout the year as well as important community and historical events. We endeavour to be an essential part of the community and work with the Moreton Bay Regional Council and the local community to further promote and support Redcliffe."

So, between 8am and 3pm on the coming Sunday, take a drive to Redcliffe and browse the Redcliffe Jetty Markets. They're on the Anzac Place Parklands, Marine Parade, Redcliffe and there's plenty to see and do. It's free to go, and there's no obligation to spend, you just have to resist the temptation if you don't want to buy anything.
