The Red Herring restaurant has been a part of local history in the area for many, many years. Established in 1932 by the Auguste family and originally knows as the 'Oyster Beds', this restaurant was renamed 'The Red Herring' in 1997.

is a very stylish and elegant award winning restaurant, situated on the glistening waters of the Swan River. Offering a very varied menu you are sure to find something to tickle your taste buds.

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and set out and has breathtaking views of the Swan River and the surrounding areas. It's the perfect place to meet family and friends, hold that special celebration, or have a romantic dinner for two. As for the feel of the restaurant it is wonderful. The ambience is warm and welcoming, making it a fantastic place to dine or host a function.

The service is brilliant and the food is absolutely delicious. The menu contains mainly fresh seafood but steak and other options are available. There is a set menu for groups of 10 people or more. One entrée option is a Sushi or Sashimi platter ($26), or a Special Share Entrée Platter, containing oysters, squid, prawns, octopus and spring rolls ($30 per person). Main meals start at around the $30 mark, They have a variety of desserts on offer – try the Cherry Parfait or the Crème Caramel ($14.50) or the Assitte of desserts to share (a selection of desserts served with four different kinds of ice cream - $30).

The Red Herring has a private function room and the actual restaurant is for hire for special occasions and weddings. They also arrange special events like a Melbourne Cup Luncheon, Christmas Day Breakfast and Christmas Day Lunch. These events are very popular and fill up fast so booking is essential.

The Red Herring caters for lunch and dinner 7 days a week and a buffet style breakfast on Sundays, with a private function room for weddings or special events, plenty of parking and boat mooring facilities. Make sure to book to avoid disappointment.
