The chance to watch a friend perform at a Friday night gig was too good to pass up, and so began the customary after-work entertainment.

Located in the densely-populated Bukit Bintang area, Changkat Bukit Bintang came to life at nightfall, the street lined with bars, clubs, music, and enough drinks to celebrate the end of another week of work.

For those who are not inclined to loud, booming dance tunes, you will be pleased to find the Rabbit Hole in the quieter end of this bustling avenue. Upon entry, you will find the walkway lined with bamboo, giving off an offbeat oriental feel. We ended up sitting in the vicinity of the bamboo garden, one of several themed sitting areas, ranging from classic English (Arthur's Lounge) to semi-alfresco/oriental.



Being in the Rabbit Hole, the most natural thing to call for dinner is....Dog Food.



With nachos and chips in equal serving, drenched in cheese, whipped cream, and curry-flavoured meat chunks, it was a great accompaniment for the night's entertainment.



As for the night's superstar, he settled for barramundi fish and chips (RM28), which did not taste too bad, but left a lot to be desired in terms of serving.



Though we didn't have anything else, I was told that any single spend of at least RM20 or above would entitle you to 300ml of Smirnoff, valued at RM5. I also found out that among the desserts menu, the pancakes were the ones to look out for.

The only major criticism was that, on occasion, you might catch a rodent or two lurking around, so for those who aren't fond of them, you have been warned.

Other than that, it was a pleasant and entertaining way to kickstart the weekend, and a place I would recommend to friends and colleagues.
