Life lessons with magic and circus
5 Things My 6-Year-Old Brother Learned From The Quizzical Mr Jeff

1. Speaking is overrated.

If you have amazing sound effects, a tight soundscape, good timing, and a sequined vest, you have everything. Add in crystal balls, some magic hats and a six-foot balloon and you have magic gold.

2. All those times your Mum tells you not to juggle food, hats, or baton twirl the hat stand in your living room, she was wrong.

In fact, these all could add up to major skills in the circus and magic theatre show world. Keep at it.

3. If you break a window, photo frame, or anything else glass and it makes a tinkling sound. That's okay.

Just stage whisper "magic" and everyone will applaud.

4. You can make wings with hula hoops.

And they're beautiful. And you will love them. And still be talking about them when you fall asleep on the way home in the car.

5. You don't always have to know how it works.

Sometimes, you can just sit back and be in awe of something magical, a flying cane dancing through the air or a grown man disappearing inside something that's meant to float on a string in the air.

Also, if you try to dissect how it works in your loud voice from the front row everyone will "shush" you, so you'd better just sit back and enjoy the show.

The Quizzical Mr Jeff is a magical circus performance complete with life lessons for children, a serious set of brows on fleek, and enchanting flair.

It's a brand new show to Fringe and on now until 27th January. Perfect for little brothers.
