The Queensbury Hotel has just about the perfect mix for a local homely pub. It's great affordable pub meals, cheap drinks and relaxed vibe attract all walks of life. On a busy night you're likely to be sitting amongst tradesmen, office professionals, uni students, and professors, all relaxing after knocking off.

Perched between the CBD and Melbourne University, on the corner of Swanston and Queensberry Streets, it's only a short walk from Melbourne Central Station. The hotel is serviced by plenty of trams along Swanston Street. All the pub classics are as filling as they are delicious, where you can grab a parma, steak or burger without breaking the bank.

Drinks are just as affordable especially when brought to wash down a meal, where you may even be enticed to try the Queensberry's own draught beer. Happy hour on Friday and Saturdays has many specials such as $5 basic spirits. But you can't go past $10 jugs of Carlton Draught and $5 Pints which are offered all day on a Saturday, so it's the perfect place to gather and watch the footy with friends or to blow the froff off a couple before heading on a big night out.

Students are looked after very well. The hotel offers generous discounts on food and drinks if you present a valid student card or are lucky enough to grab a hold a Queensberry student discount card.

The heritage listed hotel is in no ways showing its age. Along with the relaxed staff, the hotel has a warm feeling, with plenty of comfortable couches and a cosy beer garden off to the side. The upstairs section is broken up into smaller sections and boasts an inviting outdoor deck with a small bar separating the two. It is perfect for birthday parties or reunions or work functions especially when the hotel offers free room hire for functions. Thursday night offers free trivia, kicking off at 8pm with vouchers and prizes up for grabs.

So if you're in the area any day of the week except Sunday (closed for functions) call into The Queensberry Hotel, you've got nothing to lose.

They have a pretty decent sound system throughout the pub. upstairs for functions you can bring your own ipod and plug it in. But there is no live music as it's reasonably small inside.
