In The Princess Switch , Stacy, a baker from Chicago, travels to Europe where she meets and temporarily trades places with, Lady Margaret Delacourt, Duchess of Montenaro, who looks exactly like her. Hilarity, as well as Christmassy romance, ensues.

Switched Again is the second movie in the Princess Switch trilogy. Following on from the events in the first movie, Margaret has suddenly inherited the throne. This really puts a dampener on her relationship with Kevin ( the co-owner of Stacy's bakery, who she met and fell in love with in the previous film). Stacy decides to step in and switch places with Margaret once again to give her a chance to spend some time with Kevin in the lead-up to her coronation at Christmas. However, their plan is complicated by Lady Fiona Pembroke, Margaret's cousin, who wants the throne for herself.

Switched Again is very similar to the original film, only this time, not being satisfied with playing two characters in the same movie, Vanessa Hudgens (also the voice of Sunny Starscout in My Little Pony - A New Generation plays three. She is Margaret, Stacy, and the scheming Fiona. Sam Palladio (from Catherine the Great and Humans returns as Edward, the Prince of Belgravia, now Stacy's husband, and Nick Sagar (from Shadowhunters) reprises his role as Kevin.

Speaking of Kevin, Antonio (Lachlan Nieboer from Downton Abbey), for a moment I thought that the rival for Margaret's affection in this film has a point when he suggests that Kevin isn't the best choice for royal consort, because 'Prince Kevin' just sounds hilarious. Kevin is lovely. Team Kevin!

There is some drama in this one, but no violence, which leaves us with the gentlest kidnapping in film history. There are also lots of pretty frocks, some dancing, and a kiss.

When watching a Christmas movie I like to make things more interesting by playing some Christmas movie bingo . This year I used a card from The Chaos And the Clutter . The cheesier and more full of Christmas cliches the movie is, the better the game works. Switched Again was a good candidate for this, and I got frustratingly close to getting bingo.

Switched Again is a cheesy, romantic Christmas film, suitable for viewers of all ages. It was released on Netflix in 2020.
