It seems everything is going right for The Play That Goes Wrong, premiering in Melbourne on Wednesday 22nd February at the Comedy Theatre before jetting off to each major city around Oz.

Flying into Australia on top of some raving five star reviews, The Play That Goes Wrong comes direct from the West End where it has been immensely popular, along with receiving some pretty impressive awards. Producers proudly display a collection including an Olivier Award for Best new Comedy 2015, a Broadway World UK winner for Best New Play 2015 and a Whats-On-Stage Best New Comedy 2014.

Inspired by Buster Keaton's slapstick style comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong is performed on the knife's edge of 'split-second timing and ambitious daring.' Audience members should expect to leave exhausted thanks to the highly physical comedy that will strive to have you rolling out of your seat with laughter.

Described as a cross between Michael Frayn's, Noises Off and the immeasurable Fawlty Towers, what on earth can go wrong? Absolutely nothing, that's the beauty of this finely-tuned farce. Written by Mischief Theatre Company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the audience are given a rare glimpse behind the curtain when members of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society decide to host a 1920's themed murder mystery. From there, everything that can go wrong does, thanks to a hapless cast of accident-prone thespians.

Mark Bell, the original London Mischief Director, is personally holding auditions to find the perfect Australian cast and oversee the staging of this highly anticipated show. The Play That Goes Wrong will debut in Melbourne at the Comedy Theatre before moving on to Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.
