The Play That Goes Wrong reminds me of the absurdity of life. It is inherently human.

This play brings memories of when I walked down the street; saw a STOP sign (that was clearly intended for cars). I promptly obeyed the sign and took a different route to my destination, on foot!

I remember watching my mum rushing at the Myer end-of-year clearance sale as she bumped into a mirror in the ladies wear. She actually thought there were more dresses as she looked at the mirror. She head-butted the mirror, and said "Excuse me!" confusing the mirror for being a person. She tried to go through the mirror again, a little more annoyed this time, she said "Excuse me". Finally, she came to the realisation that this was a mirror!

As promised in the title of the play, everything that could go wrong does!

This is a fast paced play where the cast does an excellent job of creating chaos on stage. Vanishing props, collapsing stage backdrop, sound system blunders, actors talking out of sequence and the priceless facial expressions on each of the cast members all adds to the silliness of it all.

Oh, I did not even tell you what the play was about. In fact, it does not really matter!

If you enjoy the likes of Buster Keaton and Mr Bean, then you will love this finely tuned play packed with physical comedy and slapstick humour. I suspect each night there is something a little bit different.

Tonight, at The Comedy Theatre there was a full house of giggling adults, from the start of the play right through to the end.
