The Basement at Circular Quay is always a great place to go in Sydney for outstanding live music and next Saturday should be no exception. On May 26 The Great Gig in the Sky will deliver the last of their spectacular shows, The Pink Floyd Celebration. Although the performers are very entertaining to watch you could be miraculously transported back to the Pink Floyd era by simply closing your eyes and letting the music take you there.
The vocalists are pretty amazing - Steve Balbi (Noiseworks), Mitchell Anderson, Krishna Jones (ex Juice), Robyn Loau and Carmel Mesiti - but the real stars of the night are the instrumentalists Wolf Mail (Canada - Guitar), Ian Tilley (Boom Crash Opera - Bass), Paul Najar (Keys), Pete Skelton (Drums) and Aaron Michael (Sax). Hats off to creative director and guitarist Joseph Calderazzo for a flawless, inspiring and completely mesmerising performance.
Even if Pink Floyd was not the reason you made it through high school, if you like your music very much live, authentic and coursing through your entire being, be sure to catch this amazing band at their final performance of The Pink Floyd Celebration at Dee Why RSL on Saturday 26 May. To book for their final show visit The Great Gig in the Sky or call 9454 4000.
