I search for the alternate. I am a huge fan of live music and performance poetry. As well as quirky arts and underground movements

You know how you always see pie shops advertising the "best pies in Australia". Well I have travelled most of this country and can assure all of you that the Lismore Pie Cart make the best pies this side of the pacific.

If you follow your nose into the heart of Lismore's CBD you will find friendly locals serving up golden steamy pies, thick with gravy, mushy peas and mash.

The Pie Cart opens from mid morning through to about four (or when the pies run out!). The Pie Cart offers a huge range of freshly made pies, from chunky steak to satay chicken and vegetarian options. The shop itself is an old converted pickup truck which is very clever and inviting. There are tables provided for customers who wish to enjoy their pie as they watch the quiet Lismore life roll by.

While you're there you can check out Lismore's thriving arts scene and throw a few coins to the array of talented buskers that grace Magellan St.
