Physics meets Poetry
Are you interested in Space travel, science or poetry? Then come along and enjoy a special event, entitled The Physicist and the Poet, that brings all of these things together. The Physicist and the Poet will be held at the Perth City Library, on Monday 18th August, 2014, from 1.00pm until 2.00pm.

As part of National Science Week, The Physicist and the Poet is a free event and promises to be both entertaining and interesting.

Firstly enjoy a reading by award-winning poet Bronwyn Lovell, from her forthcoming novel 'Migration'. This verse novel is based on the Mars One mission - a program to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars in 2025.

Then join Perth-based physicist, comedian and Mars One astronaut candidate Josh Richards, for an interesting question and answer session. This session will cover not only the problems involved with space exploration and astronauts venturing into outer space, but also poetry, physics and the challenges of life, love and death in outer-space.

The Mars One project is an international one-way mission to colonise the planet Mars in 2025. Selected applicants will be chose to become the first residents of this permanent colony and the thrilling journey will be documented for a reality television program.
