Use a ripe tomato rather than tomato juice in this dressing version of the classic “day after” pick-me-up for a refreshing tang.

Tomato, vodka, white wine vinegar (I would use any vinegar), Worcestershire, tabasco, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice.


Like the shrimp cocktail dressing, simply mix all together and serve immediately!

Mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire, lemon juice and pepper.

Opinion

This cookbook, by Louise Pickford, is very small. I can only find 2 recipes to highlight but are superb.

The above 2 recipes are easy to follow. They contain ingredients that are easy to find, inexpensive and delicious. For example, I never thought to put vodka in a salad dressing! Sheer genius!

I give this cookbook a 5-star rating.
