The Peasant Prince is the live stage version of the true story of Mao's Last Dancer. This captivating tale is perfect for children during the April school holidays. The show is performing at Darling Harbour from 9th to 20th April at 10.30am and 12.30pm.
This is the exciting adventure of Li Cunxin, only 10 years old when he was sent from his farming village in remote China to the bustling city to become a dancer. He struggles after being forced from his family and friends. As his training continues, he finds strength and hope in ballet, becoming one of the greatest ballet dancers in the world.
His uplifting journey has inspired thousands of children to follow their dreams and accomplish amazing achievements. After seeing his breathtaking dance, the world learnt of his adventurous life from a best-selling book and the popular film starring Australian Ballet performer Chengwu Guo and directed by the Australian film legend, Bruce Beresford.
Li Cunxin has personally helped adapt his story for this live stage production, ensuring it captivates children 6 and older. Tickets are only $29 or $104 for a family of 4 or $125 for a family of 5. There is also no booking fee.
