Looking for a relaxed, Queensland-style weekend lunch spot? The Stamford Plaza's Pav Bar has the option of dining in the idyllic outdoor courtyard or indoors at the debonair cocktail bar.
Located in the heart of Brisbane City, the Pav Bar was a picturesque location for my lunch spot. As the French inspired courtyard was booked out, I gratifyingly got to dine inside the air-conditioned bar. After glancing at the culturally enticing menu I immediately set my sights on the Magnificent Burger selection. With the delectable options of a Cajun Chicken Burger, an American Burger, A Creole Crab Burger and an Aussie Burger, it was a somewhat arduous decision as I finally settled on the American beef patty with cheese, caramelised onion, aioli and slaw.
The delightful miniature flags atop each burger certainly helped distinguish them as they arrived at our window-side booth. Both countries looked tantalisingly good as I refrained from indulging to first test my amateur photography skills (see attached photos). I braved my burger face first and devoid of cutlery, the only way to eat a burger in my opinion. A little slice of America literally at my fingertips, this satisfyingly flavoursome burger and side of rosemary and sea salt fries went perfectly with my afternoon coffee. It was well worth having to reapply my lipstick afterwards.
I fought the urger for a power nap after that delectable meal as the lively ambience of the bar kept me sufficiently awake. After my meal I went into the courtyard to admire the centrepiece pond. Adorned with a womanly statue, water lilies and tall green grass, it was a delightful view from the surrounding shaded tables.
