I am a keen traveller. Currently rediscovering my own backyard and the rest of Australia. I enjoy nature, history and the quirkiness of what the world has to offer.

The Patch Store is a popular cafe for locals and non-locals alike.

A good sign for food

Your taste buds will start watering by just reading their website and perusing the menu and looking at the delicious food they have on offer.

The food is tasty and fresh. The display case of savoury pastries, cakes and slices make the task of selecting what to order all the more difficult.

As it was a cool autumnal day, I ordered the warming chicken noodle vegetable soup with sourdough toast.

My friend had the pork and fennel sausage roll.

We came for the caramel slice. Some caramel slices are overly sweet but we find these just right. In the hope some of it may make it home for later (a small amount did), we asked for it to be placed in a paper bag. And ate the rest with coffee.

This is why we came.

The Patch Store offers dine-in and take away. There is limited seating inside and out, so it would be advisable to book ahead. It is still nice to sit outside in the cooler months but be forewarned to rug up.

The Patch Store supports local suppliers which they list on their website. The store still has a working post office and they offer small goods.

Parking at The Patch Store can be tricky, especially out the front. Alternative parking can be found at The Patch Hall, 160 metres up the road on the opposite side.

You will be making more than one trip to The Patch Store.
