Yes, you read that right!
Due to the popularity and success of their ever popular film adaptation of the
original Parent Trap , twenty-five years later, the good people at Walt Disney brought back an adult Haley Mills to once again take on the twin roles of both Susan Evans and Sharon McKendrick!
This time the story focuses on Sharon's daughter, Nicky, who is desperate to not have to move house and be forced to leave her best friend Mary behind. So, in a burst of inspiration the two girls hatch a plan to make Sharon (who is now divorced) to fall in love with Mary's widowed father (played by Tom Skerritt) and to make matters even more confusing, they enlist Nicky's auntie Susan to pretend to be her sister in order to seduce Mary's father.
Things soon get really awkward when Susan, pretending to be Sharon, is on a date with Mary's father and soon spies her husband at another table with a mystery woman, which spirals everyone into a whirlwind of surprises, confusion and laugh out loud hilarity.
While not being quite as good as the original, The Parent Trap 2 will definitely delight any fan of the first installment of this series.
The Parent Trap 2 is rated G for general guidance and is suitable for the entire family to enjoy.
8.5/10
