On weekends, Docklands is a surprisingly good place to have a sticky beak at. It's changing rapidly, there are hilarious public artworks, strange grassy hills for running up and rolling down and picturesque viewpoints of the waterfront.

All this walking around can make the average visitor hungry and if you are unfamiliar with the eating areas which are tucked away off the main streets, it can be hard to find a place for a quick coffee and bite to eat as you head on and off the number 11 Collins Street tram.



Fortunately The Pantry caters for such unexpected belly rumblings. There are other franchises across Melbourne and at each it's an up market grocery store and café all in one. The coffee is quick and up to standard and there are a range of focaccia sandwiches or a delicious range of takeaway soups including mushroom, tomato, minestrone and pumpkin and they are always updating their menu.



While there are a some tables that you can eat at, it's more of a grab what you want and go out kind of place.



What I like is the range of unusual teas on offer and the gourmet chocolates you can buy. It's worth a stop over to get your bearings and reverse the low blood sugar levels.
